Overwatch reveals Anran redesign after player and voice actor backlash

Blizzard has released a redesigned in-game model for Overwatch character Anran following public criticism from players and her voice actor.

Anran first appeared in an August 2025 animated trailer and players said her playable design looked younger and similar to other female heroes.

Game director Aaron Keller said the team adjusted Anran’s eyebrows, eyes and mouth to make her look more mature and closer to her brother Wuyang.

Player reaction to the redesign on social media has been mixed, while voice actor Fareeha praised the updated look.
