iOS 27 will let you choose between Gemini, Claude, and more for AI features: report

Apple is reportedly planning a new Extensions system for iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27.

The feature would let users choose external AI providers from installed apps to power Siri, Writing Tools, Image Playground, and similar tools.

Models such as Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, and possibly ChatGPT could be selected for different tasks, with separate Siri voices tied to different models.

The move would make Apple’s AI features more open and give users more control over the models behind core system experiences.
