Ouster’s new color lidar is coming to replace cameras

Ouster unveiled Rev8, a new lidar sensor family that captures color imagery and depth data at the same time.

The company says the SPAD-based digital lidar can replace separate cameras in some use cases, simplifying perception stacks.

Samples have already shipped to customers, and Ouster is now taking orders.

The OS1 Max is being positioned as the long-range flagship for robotics and autonomous vehicle applications.
