Anthropic bans AI tools during job interviews to see how candidates actually think

Anthropic has banned AI tools in live job interviews unless explicitly permitted, Bloomberg Businessweek reports.

Candidates may go through up to five interview rounds, including a culture interview on values, worldview and ethical judgment.

Failing the culture stage can end the process, as Anthropic tries to assess independent thinking and fit.

The policy comes amid intense competition for AI talent, with high pay, equity and coaching pressure at top firms like OpenAI.
