Tom's Hardware says 60% of surveyed PC gamers expect to wait at least two years before building a new PC.

Only small shares plan to build within 12 months, six months, or three months.

The slowdown is tied to AI data center demand driving up prices and tightening supply of DRAM, RAM, SSDs, and graphics cards.

Recent CPU launches, including AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D and Intel Arrow Lake Refresh, have not been enough to restart upgrade demand.
