Some iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone Air Users Experiencing a Charging Issue

Reports from 9to5Mac and users online say some iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone Air, and possibly iPhone 17 units won’t restart or show the charging icon after the battery fully drains.

The issue appears tied to USB-C charging after a deep battery depletion; in some cases, MagSafe can eventually bring the phone back to life.

Apple has not yet commented, and it’s unclear whether this is an iOS 26.4.1/26.4.2 bug or a hardware-related problem.

If confirmed, the bug could block basic recovery from a dead battery and leave affected users relying on wireless charging or a future fix.
