My 30-euro keyboard can do the same as OpenAI's new $230 AI keyboard

OpenAI launched Codex Micro, a $230 hardware controller made with Work Louder for managing Codex and other AI-agent tasks.

The device adds programmable keys, a dial, joystick, and layered controls, but much of that can already be done with a cheaper programmable keyboard.

The article argues the product is more a branded AI accessory than a truly new capability.

The launch comes as OpenAI faces hardware-related legal scrutiny and continues work on a separate device with Jony Ive.
