Google just announced a cleaner Nest and Fitbit community, but there's a catch

Google will relaunch its Home & Nest and Fitbit community forums in May with a cleaner layout, better categories, and a new Gemini for Home section.

The redesign aims to make support easier to navigate, but it will also delete all existing forum posts.

On Fitbit, users will need to create new accounts because old profile data will not be migrated.

The change may improve the experience going forward, but it also wipes out years of troubleshooting history and community context.
