Rodalies is such a mess of delays and cancellations that a student has had enough, and is now claiming €9,200 from Renfe

A UAB mathematics student, David Pujol, is seeking €9,211.35 from Renfe and transport authorities over repeated Rodalies delays and cancellations.

He says he documented 55 serious incidents on lines including R1, R3, R4, R7, R8 and R15 between September 2024 and May 2026.

Pujol says the disruptions forced him to move closer to campus, hurt his academic progress, and worsened his obsessive-compulsive disorder.

The case underscores the scale of commuter rail failures in Catalonia and the growing use of compensation claims for transport-related harm.
