Rakuten posts first profit since mobile business in Q1, sees “significant revenue growth” this fiscal year through AI and ecosystem

Rakuten Group posted record quarterly revenue of JPY 643.6 billion, up 14.4% year over year.

Rakuten Mobile turned profitable on a quarterly basis for the first time since entering the MNO market.

CEO Hiroshi Mikitani said the company will push further profit improvement through AI and ecosystem integration.

Rakuten is also considering a restructuring of its fintech businesses to unlock more financial synergies.
