That old Gmail username? You can finally change it

Google has launched the ability to change Gmail @gmail.com usernames for all account holders in the US.

Users can update their username from the web, Android, or iPhone and the new name becomes the primary login.

Changes are limited to once every 12 months and up to three total, and old addresses remain as aliases that still receive mail.

Google will not release old usernames for others to claim and past items will not retroactively show the new name.
