Alibaba’s Qwen to be integrated into Apple Intelligence

Alibaba’s Qwen model will be integrated into Apple Intelligence for users in China across Apple devices.

The move should let users access text, image understanding, and content generation without switching apps.

China’s internet regulator also filed seven on-device generative AI services, including Apple Intelligence and models from Huawei and OPPO.

The approvals suggest Apple can expand its AI features in China while giving Alibaba’s model exposure to a major consumer ecosystem.
