AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Review: Twice the 3D V-Cache

AMD’s Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 brings 3D V-Cache to both 8-core CCDs, unlike earlier dual-CCD X3D chips that only enabled cache on one side.

The design follows the 5800X3D and 7950X3D era, but Zen 5 adds improved Windows scheduling and a second-generation cache layout.

That layout lowers thermal resistance, helping AMD better balance cache capacity and boost clocks on a 16-core, 32-thread CPU.

The result is a more symmetrical X3D strategy that could improve gaming consistency on high-end Ryzen chips.
