iOS 26.4.2: Apple Emergency iPhone Update Fixes Deleted Notification Bug

Apple released iOS 26.4.2 for iPhone 11 and later to fix a Notification Services flaw that could retain deleted notifications.

The update also retroactively purges stored fragments on affected devices, reducing the chance that deleted message content can be recovered.

The bug was linked to possible exposure of Signal message content and other private notification data, creating a privacy risk.

Apple’s patch addresses CVE-2026-28950 and strengthens protection against forensic recovery of supposedly deleted data.
