Sony launches True RGB TVs in the Bravia series, and it’s the start of a whole new era

Sony unveiled the BRAVIA 9 II and BRAVIA 7 II, two new TVs built on its True RGB technology.

Instead of a single white backlight, True RGB uses separately controlled red, green, and blue LEDs for wider color and brighter images.

The TVs add wide-angle viewing, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, IMAX Enhanced, and Google TV with Gemini; the 9 II also gets premium anti-glare features.

Pricing ranges from $1,599.99 to $30,999.99, with the BRAVIA 7 II available now and some BRAVIA 9 II sizes arriving later this year.
