OpenAI Rolls Out ‘Advanced’ Security Mode for At-Risk Accounts

OpenAI launched an optional Advanced Account Security mode for ChatGPT and Codex.

It requires two physical security keys or passkeys, disables password and email/SMS recovery, and shortens sessions with login alerts.

The change is aimed at reducing account takeover and social-engineering risks for users handling sensitive information.

Some cyber program users must enable it by June 1 or attest to equivalent phishing-resistant enterprise authentication.
