Autonomous hybrid ground vehicles that can transform modern warfare soon to be delivered to US Army

American Rheinmetall won a U.S. Army Project Sustainment contract to develop hybrid-powered uncrewed ground vehicles.

The vehicles will use Harbinger’s plug-in hybrid platform, with autonomy from Forterra and a voice interface from Primordial Labs.

The effort aims to reduce soldier exposure during contested logistics and strengthen tactical sustainment.

It also supports the Army’s broader modernization push for autonomous vehicles.
