Slate Auto will announce pricing and take preorders for its EV on June 24

Slate Auto will reveal EV pricing on June 24 and open $300 non-refundable preorders, while keeping $50 refundable reservations available.

The company says its customizable EV will start in the mid-$20,000 range, higher than its earlier sub-$20,000 target after the federal EV tax credit ended.

More than 160,000 people have already placed refundable reservations, giving Slate a large demand test ahead of launch.

Backed by Jeff Bezos and Mark Walter, Slate has raised about $1.4 billion so far, including a $650 million Series C.
