PayPay supports Starlink, enabling satellite-based payments even at mountain huts

PayPay now supports direct satellite communication via carrier-provided Starlink Direct.

Users can make payments and use the app in areas with no mobile coverage, if their device and carrier environment are supported.

This extends QR and other PayPay functions to remote locations such as mountain huts and disaster-affected areas.

The update could improve payment convenience and resilience during outages or emergencies.
