Bill Gates-backed TerraPower partners with Hyundai for next-gen 345-MW nuclear reactor

TerraPower chose HD Hyundai Heavy Industries to manufacture key components for its 345-MW Natrium advanced nuclear reactor.

The framework agreement starts with first-of-a-kind units and could expand to serial production later.

HD Hyundai also signed an MOU with TerraPower and Hyundai Engineering & Construction to broaden cooperation on next-generation nuclear projects.

The partnership strengthens TerraPower’s path from development toward commercial deployment by adding industrial manufacturing capacity and supply-chain support.
