New Sam Bankman-Fried trial would be huge waste of court’s time, judge says

A federal judge denied Sam Bankman-Fried’s request for a new trial and recusal.

Judge Lewis Kaplan said the supposed new witnesses were not newly discovered and the conspiracy claims were unsupported.

The court said the motion would waste resources while Bankman-Fried’s appeal is already pending.

The ruling leaves his 25-year FTX fraud conviction in place for now.
