Oracle launches compact DB appliance for branch offices and remote sites

Oracle launched Base Database Cloud@Customer, a compact on-premises database appliance for branch offices, remote sites, and small businesses.

The 8U system uses two AMD EPYC-based servers and includes high availability and disaster recovery features, including Active Data Guard.

With added SSDs, it can scale up to 47.2TB and also run non-database workloads such as AI agents.

The product brings Oracle database services closer to smaller distributed locations while reducing latency for local workloads.
