Meta and Other Social Networks Will Pay $27 Million to Settle Kentucky School District Lawsuit

Meta, Snap, TikTok, and YouTube settled a Kentucky school district lawsuit for about $27 million.

Meta will pay $9 million, while Snap and TikTok will each pay $8 million; YouTube will pay a bit over $2 million and support teacher training.

The case accused the platforms of addictive design and harm to student mental health.

The deal may influence damages and legal strategy in more than 1,300 similar school district lawsuits.
