More than 70 robot teams gear up for China's second humanoid half-marathon

More than 70 robot teams ran an overnight 21-kilometre test course in Beijing ahead of China’s second humanoid half-marathon.

About 40% of the teams are using fully autonomous navigation, and new prizes this year reward endurance and finishing.

The event has drawn far more entrants than last year, when only six of 21 robots completed the race.

It underscores the rapid growth of China’s humanoid robotics sector, while exposing challenges like navigation, overheating and battery life.
