Intel-backed memory tech powers 26-billion-parameter models on PCs with just 16 GB RAM

Phison and Intel unveiled aiDAPTIV at Computex 2026, a memory-extension setup for AI PCs using Core Ultra Series 3 processors and storage-based caching.

The system offloads part of a model’s memory needs to NAND flash, helping local AI workloads run on PCs with limited DRAM.

In internal tests, a 26-billion-parameter model reportedly ran with 16 GB of memory instead of 32 GB.

The companies also showed local AI and hybrid routing demos using tools like OpenVINO.
