Windows 11 will clean up its own driver mess so you don’t have to

Microsoft is testing Cloud-Initiated Driver Recovery in Windows 11, a feature that can automatically roll back faulty drivers delivered through Windows Update.

When a driver is flagged for quality issues, Windows Update will remove it and restore the last known working version in the background.

Microsoft will handle the recovery process first and notify hardware partners afterward.

The company says the feature is being tested with partners and should roll out gradually in September.
