Rivian's R2 Electric SUV Launches On June 9

Rivian will begin R2 order invitations, demo drives, and initial U.S. deliveries on June 9.

EPA ratings show the R2 Performance AWD with 21-inch wheels at 330 miles of range and 105 MPGe.

That tops the 2026 Tesla Model Y AWD’s 306 miles and matches its 105 MPGe, despite the R2 being larger.

A version with 20-inch all-terrain wheels is rated at 307 miles and 99 MPGe.

Rivian is also letting shoppers save configurations online and prioritizing some R1 reservation holders.
