Google clarifies commitment to Chromebooks but it brings up more questions than answers

Google unveiled the Gemini-centered Googlebook, an AI-first laptop concept with features like Magic Pointer and Glowbar.

At the same time, Google said Chromebooks will keep getting long-term support and remain available for schools and businesses.

But its talk of future transition paths and an agentic AI work model has raised questions about whether Chromebooks are eventually being phased out.

The uncertainty matters because schools, enterprises, and consumers depend on Chromebooks and clear ChromeOS support commitments.
