Meta employees have spent weeks not knowing whether they will be laid off. Meanwhile, the company records everything they do on their computers

Meta plans to log US employees’ keystrokes, mouse movement, clicks, and periodic screenshots on company laptops to train AI agents.

The company is also preparing to cut about 8,000 jobs, adding to staff anxiety and morale problems.

Employees have reacted with alarm, seeing the monitoring as a sign of growing surveillance inside the workplace.

Legal experts say such tracking is much more restricted in Europe under GDPR than in the US.
