Amazon Employees Forced to Hit AI Use Quotas, Immediately Start Using It for Everything Except Work

Amazon reportedly set AI usage targets and a token leaderboard to push adoption of its in-house agent, MeshClaw.

Some employees are gaming the system by using it for personal or unrelated tasks to inflate token counts, a tactic dubbed tokenmaxxing.

The behavior has spread in tech-worker forums, raising questions about workplace surveillance and the accuracy of AI productivity metrics.

Amazon says the tools are meant to automate repetitive work safely and responsibly.
