Apple could get a taste of sub-nanometer chips in 2029

A report says TSMC plans to move from 2nm to 1.4nm in 2028 and start trial production of sub-1nm chips in 2029 at its Tainan A10 site.

Apple is likely to be among the first customers, raising expectations for faster, more power-efficient Apple silicon in future iPhones and Macs.

If the roadmap succeeds, it could improve performance and battery life, but the extreme complexity and cost may keep adoption limited to premium devices.
