Pop Mart teams up with Sony Pictures to develop live-action LABUBU film

Pop Mart and Sony Pictures are developing a live-action/CGI film based on LABUBU.

The project is in early development, with Paul King set to direct and produce and Simon Farnaby co-writing the screenplay.

LABUBU creator Long Jiasheng will also be involved in creative development.

The deal could turn LABUBU from a collectible character into a broader screen franchise.
